Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine Innovation Week
During Innovation Week, the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine (LSTM) hosted a hybrid panel discussion on how intellectual property (IP) can drive affordable access and societal impact. Experts from various fields examined the transformative role of IP in global health, impact investment, entrepreneurship, and technology transfer. Panelists Johan Moyersoen (Impact Licensing Initiative), Michelle Childs (DNDi), Helen Heap (SEEBOHM HILL LTD), Neil Murray (ReNewVax Ltd), and Carolyn Horrocks (University of Liverpool) shared insights on leveraging IP for real-world impact. The discussion emphasised LSTM’s dedication to translating research into meaningful solutions for global challenges. Johan Moyersoen highlighted the importance of frugal and open innovation in encouraging technology owners to bring their innovations to societal markets.
